A Newbie Photographer's Journal

Snowy Cotton Ball

Here in New Jersey, it seems we don’t get “nice” snow storms any more…usually just wet, icy snow. However, in December 2009, we actually got a pretty good one – about 8-10 inches of nice light snow (easy to shovel). The bonus was that it started snowing on a Saturday afternoon. This allowed everyone to do their errands in the morning and just sit back and enjoy the beautiful snowfall later in the day. I went out the next morning and cleared the walkway and stayed out for a bit longer to take pictures.

This photo was taken behind my garage. Snow had fallen inside of the remnants of flower buds and stayed there like a perfectly fluffy cotton ball. Good thing I went out to shovel early as this may have melted in another hour or so.
